American Heather Bergsma breaks women's 1,000 record

American Heather Bergsma broke the world record in the women's 1,000 meters Saturday in a World Cup speedskating event at the Olympic Oval. Bergsma finished in 1 minute, 12.51 seconds, just minutes after American teammate Brittany Bowe lowered her own world mark with a time of 1:12.54.
